High Physical Support category homes in Australia

SDA-Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)

is a range of housing designed for people with extreme functional impairment or very high needs. SDA homes are constructed to be more accessible for people with high care needs.

SDA is offered by NDIS registered SDA providers. Providers have to enrol dwellings that meet the requirements of SDA with the NDIA.

NDIS has very strict guidelines for SDA home designs.

The SDA Design Standard has been developed through extensive consultation across government, private sector, the housing industry and disability organisations. It sets out detailed design requirements that are incorporated into newly built SDA, seeking enrolment under the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
